Kenny Ingram Director/Choreographer has been creating theatre for the past 24 years. Assisting such greats as Hal Prince, Susan Stroman, and Frank Galati. Kenny worked as the Dance Captain for Showboat with Susan Stroman and then was promoted to Assistant Resident Director for Showboat. He has choreographed Everyman for Mr. Galati at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. Kenny recently won the 2025  Audelco Award for Best Director of a Musical of Purlie at American Theatre Group with The Blessings of The Ossie Davis Estate.  And He recently Directed and Choreographed a Co- Production of  Hairspray at The Fulton Theatre and Maine State Music Theatre. where he also Directed and Choreographed The Co- Production of Anastasia. Kenny Directed and Choreographed ,9 to 5, The Musical and The First Regional Production of Funny Girl at Maine State Music Theatre.

 This Fall, Kenny will be Mentoring Artist in Residence Marchánt Davis on the upcoming concert of Mick’s Grants “Box with Your Arms Too Short to Box with God” for The York Theatre at The Bruno Walter Theatre at Lincoln Center in New York this December.

Off Broadway, Kenny directed and choreographed James T. Lane in Triple Threat at Theatre Row which received 5 Audelco Nominations including best actor for Mr. Lane and a nomination for Kenny for Best Director.  Kenny received a Joseph Jefferson for his Best Revue for Blues in the Night at Chicago’s Porchlight Music Theatre  and He also received a Black Theatre Alliance Awards for Best Choreography for Blues in the Night and Dreamgirls at  Marriott.  Kenny pioneered Chicago Shakes  with bringing Musicals to their legacy. Asked by the incomparable Barbara Gaines. Kenny would direct and Choreograph their first Musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2000 which was moved from The Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. Mr Ingram also directed and choreograph Cinderella at Theatre by The Sea and The Wiz at New Bed Festival Theatre.

As a Choreographer,  Mr. Ingram choreographed Disney’s Jolly Holiday, Sound of Music and Songs for a Brave New World at Paper Mill Playhouse. Off Broadway,  Kenny Choreographed Emojiland at The Duke Theatre on 42nd. Till, The Musical (The Story of Emmett Till ) at Signature Theatre and Turtle on a Fence Post at Theatre 555.  Kenny also choreographed two productions of The Wizard of Oz at Chicago Shakes.

He has  collaborated with Director E. Faye Butler as a  choreographer for over 40 years with projects :Ain’t Misbehavin’ at Milwaukee Rep’s Stackner Cabaret, Portland Stage, Michigan Ensemble Theatre and in Peoria. He also choreographed The Wiz for Ms. Butler at the Fulton and  Sister Act, The Musical , and Nunsense at Drury Lane Oakbrook Theatre.  He Most recently, choreographing The Buddy Holly Musical at Drury Lane Oakbrook for Matt Carney.
